On Saturday, April 21, legendary racer and Ford-Cobra-Shelby Reunion (FCSR) Grand Marshal Parnelli Jones will be joined by a stellar group of contemporaries on the panel discussion as part of the FCSR festivities at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by Automobile Club of Southern California.
“We have a great line up of racing celebrities for our FCSR Panel Discussion,” said Event Director Tony Thacker. “Grand Marshal Parnelli Jones will be joined by Bob Bondurant, Pete Brock, Jerry Grant, Sherry MacDonald and John Morton—all of whom played an important role in the birth of the Cobra legend.”
“Also in the room for the panel discussion will be many former employees of Shelby American who will no doubt add some spice to the proceedings,” concluded Thacker.
The Panel Discussion is scheduled for Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hall of Champions inside the NHRA Motorsports Museum. The cost is just $20.
Scheduled for April 21, the Ford-Cobra-Shelby Reunion is an event for all Cobras, Ford and Ford-powered vehicles, including GT40s and Ford GTs as well as all Shelby vehicles.
Phenomenal color, ingenious composition and a whole fresh take on Art bring Katrin Kampmann, Berlin-based rising star into the spotlight tonight at GARBOUSHIAN GALLERY in Beverly Hills.
It’s not often that a new artist really makes an impact on the art world, but Katrin Kampmann, seen by many as an important pioneer of the neue junge wilde movement from Germany has done just that. She’s standing the art world on its head with honest, frank, and expressive reflections of the world around her – and her first Gallery Exhibition, entitled “Goodbye Tomorrow” in the United States opens tonight at GARBOUSHIAN GALLERY in the Golden Triangle of Beverly Wilshire.
Goodbye Tomorrow is a masterwork of intrigue provoked by deep layers and facets of reality, and Kampmann’s work, while visually stunning in any form, is of course best-appreciated in person. Serious art collectors from around the globe have already begun appreciating Kampmann’s work, and her Art isn’t taken lightly by anyone.
The Prader-Willi California Foundation (online at www.PWCF.org) is hosting its annual walk-a-thon this year on May 1st in Southern and Central, CA, and May 14th in Northern California.
Prader-Willi Syndrome is a genetic abnormality that effects children and can be quite surprising to parents. PWCF.org is trying to get the word out for itself as a resource and support network for people both directly and indirectly impacted by Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). Their goal is to raise $350,000 to help find a cure.
This year, their annual event takes place on May 1st in Southern California at Woodley Park in Santa Ana. Central Californians can get walking in Fresno on the same day in Woodward Park, and NorCal residents can walk up money in Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley on May 14th. People interested in getting involved by registering to walk or by making donations can learn more about the events through Prader-Willi California Foundation’s Web Site, www.PWCF.org.
Normally, I find the term “tour de force” an overused, hyperbolic cliché. However in this case, what Herair Garboushian has arranged for the GARBOUSHIAN GALLERY in Beverly Hills tomorrow night, the term is completely aprapo.
Together: A Showcase of Rising Talents in Los Angeles Performance Art is a wicked sensory overload combination of performing artists combining sound, visuals and emotion. Dawn Kasper, Robert Crouch & Dino Dinco & Yann Novak & Dorian Wood, Rafael Esparza, Brian Getnick & Guest, and Killsonic are coming together for one night of crazy, fantastic performance. With Katrin Kampmann’s exhibit, Goodbye Tomorrow coming soon as well, GARBOUSHIAN GALLERY is making quite a name for itself. In fact, Kevin Killian, renowned art critic has called GARBOUSHIAN “the coolest gallery in Beverly Hills”.
Performances begin tomorrow at 8pm for the invitation-only event.
Rob Pelinka and his team at The Landmark Sports Agency have landed first round draft pick Wesley JaMarr Johnson the Minesota Timberwolves.
The 6’7″ Texan played college hoops with Syracuse, positioning himself as a dominator on the court and raising a lot of eyebrows as he led his team (and scoring 25 points) to beat favored North Carolina. He continues to score in his first year in the NBA at the Minnesota Timberwolves, already scoring 24 points against the formidable New Orleans Hornets and then getting to show his stuff as a Rookie All-Star. Playing off the bench, Johnson scored 25 and helped his team to beat the ranking All-Star Second Year team.
Rob Pelinka continues to guide his career and help him to be placed such that he will achieve notice and eventually ultimate success in the NBA.
Team Tyrrell is sad to have lost our old friend, Derek Gardner.
Derek was the brilliant designer behind the Championship-Winning (World beating, Ferrarri-beating, ALL-COMERS beating) Tyrrells in the early 70’s. It was Gardner’s and Tyrrell’s garigiste spirit that Enzo Ferrari deplored as his beautiful V-12 machines lost race after race to the plucky Brits with Jackie Stewart leading the charge behind the wheel.
Derek had been quite ill for some years, and as a result had stopped coming to the races. His stories were wonderful, and his genius and quiet humility will be sorely missed. He passed last night as quietly as his humble personality. Our condolences go to his family. May Derek Gardner rest in peace with our many thanks.
Legal Management Solutions has been in a state of constant success and expansion since its inception. LMS Principle and CEO, Kurt Obermeyer, has bucked the recession and now opened a second satellite office for his business while other businesses are suffering and even shuttering.
As stated on the LMS web site, www.LegalManagementSolutions.com: “Opening in office in Orange County was something we have been looking at since opening our doors in 2009. With more clients in the area, we wanted to have a presence in the area and become a closer part of the community as a whole” states President and CEO Kurt Obermeyer. “We are growing as our reputation and referrals grow and Orange County is a key market for us. We are very excited about this office and its future growth.”
The latest office has been opened in Irvine, following the recent opening of a satellite for Legal Management Solutions in Valencia, California. Now LMS Expertise spreads from the Valley through Los Angeles (and their headquarters in El Segundo near the Manhattan Beach Marriott) down to Orange County. LMS is now the real Legal office assistance of the OC.

Many law firms are great at practicing law, but just as proprietors of every business type go into business for themselves, they’re not necessarily good at the “business” side of things.
Anyone that has read Michael Gerber’s books knows the fatal mistake well-intentioned practitioners make when they go into business for themselves: they go from doing one thing they are really good at to doing twelve things, one of which they are really good at. Most often this formula spells disaster, which is why so many small businesses fail.
But Kurt Obermeyer and his team at Legal Management Solutions ARE good at the business side of law. Because legal actions are so touchy, people using law firms are accustomed to paying high prices to cover the administrative errors that the law firm covers through other charges. When a successful law firm hires Obermeyer and Legal Management Solutions to reduce administrative overhead – sometimes shockingly high – that means a direct realization of profit and a higher moral and ethical standard of business.
WSmad is proud to take Kurts bold and relevant business idea to the Web through www.LegalManagementSolutions.com. Since the inception of the project, Kurt’s company has tripled in size.
