Great Coins: Rick Snow is Coin Dealer of the Year! And, Now… Runs GreatCoins.com
We just launched a site! GreatCoins.com is live and running nicely. It’s filled with great coins from a great dealer. But that’s not the really big news, we launch websites all the time. The really big news is that our customer, Rick Snow (and owner of GreatCoins.com) has been named ANA‘s prestigious Coin Dealer of the Year for 2024!
So Rick is having a good time. We’re glad to be a part of it.
Snow deserves it. He’s one helluva numismatist. Rick Snow the world’s leading expert on Flying Eagle Cents and Indian Cents, two beloved and iconic small U.S. cent types. Coins offer a fascinating and often beautiful look into America’s not-always beautiful history. But these shiny little discs, these classic US Coins carry much more than just monetary value.
Great Coins For Sale: The New GreatCoins.com
But first, let’s talk about great coins – GreatCoins.com, that is! GreatCoins.com is Rick’s new site to sell his more common coins and non-numismatic items. Along with the classics that Rick is already known for, he has a huge inventory of modern US coins for coin collectors to peruse. Rick Snow and his son Kenny have been running their brick and mortar local coin shop (LCS) in Tucson for decades. As a result, they get all sorts of interesting items through their Arizona coin shop. And sometimes, not just coins.
Sometimes their stuff ends up on their eBay Store, Eagle Eye Rare Coins (or eerc on eBay). But if collectors want to avoid eBay fees, one way they can do that is skip eBay and go straight to Rick’s site, GreatCoins.com. It’s got some fascinating pieces on it. Not just US coins like Rick’s Flying Eagle Cent and Indian Cent inventory – most of that is on his main site, IndianCent.com.
But GreatCoins.com has ancient coins, bullion, and philately – a lot of US stamps and stamps and philately from all over the world! They’re amazing and fascinating. And they really shouldn’t be on his coin website, so he’s using his online storefront at GreatCoins.com for all this other interesting stuff.
So if you see something of Rick’s on eBay (and what coin collector isn’t prowling eBay for newps and cherry picks, right?), there’s a chance it’s on GreatCoins.com. Head on over to the great coins site to find the same thing for a potentially even better deal. And, what else, to find some great coins for sale!
Rick Snow: The American Numismatic Association Coin Dealer of the Year, 2024
But the new site is not the only thing going on in the good Mr. Snow’s life. Rick has also been named the American Numismatic Association Coin Dealer of the Year for 2024!
The ANA has honored him Numismatist of the Year for his work with Flying Eagles and Indian Cents in years past. And his books have won awards through the years, too. So accolades are nothing new to Rick Snow. However, it’s always a pleasant surprise to be named CDOY – it’s a coveted award that the ANA does not give out easily.
So congratulations to our client, Rick Snow: the proprietor of Eagle Eye Rare Coins and now GreatCoins.com. And for 2024, Rick Snow has earned our admiration as the ANA’s Coin Dealer of the Year!
Love: An Interfanatic Quality
“The giving of love is an education in itself.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt
Our quote this month is really fitting for Rick. You see, Rick Snow is not only the foremost authority on Flying Eagle and Indian Cents, he’s also “the guy that wrote the book.” (And if you know anything of Interfanatic history, you know we like working with people that claim that moniker.)
As Rick has given love to his hobby, so he has given it to us. And we thank Rick Snow for that love and opportunity to be a part of his numismatic journey.
Rick Snow wrote the encyclopedia on Flying Eagle Cent and Indian Cent varieties back in the 1990s, and he’s been updating it regularly since. You can get it in hardback or you can get his online edition. If you want to learn everything there is to know about Flying Eagle Cents or Indian Cents, this book is your key to that journey.
