Honor: West Coast Jewelers – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

West Coast Jewelers, for our Customer Spotlight on Honor, an Interfanatic Quality

If you honor and serve the people who work for you, they will honor and serve you.

Mary Kay Ash

Another week, another week closer to honorable leadership?

This quote speaks to me because I was raised around this philosophy. I grew up in a family business with thousands of incredibly appreciated workers.

All business must be honorable if it is to survive, thrive, and do well for the community around it.

This week, we’re helping a new business launch. And I guarantee you that in their line of work, they would go nowhere fast were they not honorable.

Honor: An Interfanatic Quality

When you work with honor, people know they can depend on you. Trust comes from doing deals with honor.

There’s no reason to go into business if you refuse to hold your honor and that of your customers in esteem.

Hopefully, that’s why we’re here after over 20 years. We always treat our customers with honor. I know our customers appreciate the work we do.

West Coast Jewelers – Bringing Business with Honor

The cash for gold business is not one known for honor. But Firas Sayegh and his family business are determined to raise the bar on their competition.

“West Coast Jewelers pay for gold like coin dealers pay: the most.”

It’s a difficult thing to open any business. But the thing about West Coast Jewelers is that they have a very clear unique selling proposition. They do custom jewelry for beauty, and also for investment.

Everyone knows that taking scrap gold to a cash for gold place is the best way to lose money. They pay the least – sometimes a criminally small amount – for gold. Jewelers pay the next most, and coin shops pay the most. As West Coast Jewelers works with bullion dealers, they’re almost like a coin dealer who does jewelry. They pay for gold like coin dealers pay.

But the most important thing Firas brings to his business is his honor. And he knows this. You don’t get far in the gold and jewelry business cheating people. Not ever, but especially in the age of social media. Firas Sayegh and West Coast Jewelers are transparent and embrace social media, like so many young entrepreneurs. The people of West Coast Jewelers deal in honor.

I remember watching Steven Tyler talk about the way he wanted to honor his fans. It’s not the same thing as honoring your workers, but it seems like the right message. You have to truly honor your fans with truth, hard work to create excellent results. We got to go see Aerosmith in concert last year in Vegas, and man what a show. It was a wonderful experience, and I felt honored to be there, and honored by the Aerosmith troupe.

Black Lives Matter.

So let’s talk a bit more about honor. Integrity. Making good choices.

I’ve quoted it before and it bears repeating:

“Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.”

The Boxer, Simon & Garfunkel

I just read an interesting article written by Brad Raffensberger, the Replican Georgia Secretary of State, in USA Today. His piece is entitled, “My family voted for Trump. He threw us under the bus anyway.”

To which every Biden voter (Republican, Democrat, and otherwise) replies: “You’re just getting this?” I know, I know.

But here’s the issue. The important, probably respectable person – to the bitter end – ignored what everyone was saying.

Because he was hearing what he wanted to hear.

He was lulled into believing, trusting. Because he was hearing what he wanted to hear. He ignored what he didn’t want to hear. To his own detriment. And he only realized it after it was too late. He helped to fix the problem for some, but only after he had worked to exacerbate it by voting for Trump.

He realized, only too late, that the guy he had been listening to, believing, and entrusting with the leadership of these United States, had no integrity. Everybody not drinking the Kool-aid knew this. But this respectable person didn’t. Because he only trusted information sources he liked.

And of course – this is a very slippery slope. Should we listen to sources we don’t like? Won’t we all then become flat-earthers who know aliens built the pyramids?

As always, the information brokers hold incredible control. In our Internet revolution age, it’s increasingly difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Will Raffensberger now revisit all that he listened to and re-examine his decision making process to make sure it doesn’t happen again? I hope he does. I hope he does. It’s not crazy left wing libtards that are Anti-Trump, as Trump would have you believe. It’s everyone who realized Trump is a phony snake oil salesmen peddling chaos and misinformation – who know he can’t be trusted with the Presidency of the United States – who are Anti-Trump.

This is America.

We must remain diligent in the way we seek information. We must hold all levels accountable to the truth. Whether they wear blue, red, green or any other color.

Sincerity: Durnell Jewelry – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

Durnell Jewelry - Customer Spotlight, Sincerity

“Weak people cannot be sincere.”

– François de La Rochefoucauld

How does that sit with you?

Bridgett Durnell is not weak. After years being a successful jewelry designer for the big atelier houses, she struck out on her own. She immediately began making waves with her distinctive designs.

Durnell is best known for her engagement ring designs. As such, she trades in sincerity.

She takes her sincerity and gives symbols of forever grace and beauty. And she takes her talent sincerely and has built a business around it.

When François VI, Duc de La Rochefoucauld, Prince de Marcillac wrote these words, he was thinking of a person just like Bridgett Durnell. Although I’m sure he became an expert in sincerity after having to deal with his ridiculous titles through a distinguished nobleman’s career.

We don’t always get it right. But we certainly mean to. And with those sincere intentions, we drive on to produce something great. We take our customers and their businesses sincerely.

It was a great pleasure working with Bridgett many years ago, and we’re pleased to see her continued success. Sincerely pleased.
