Strength: GKAD Architects – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

M. K. Gandhi

There are times an indomitable will is insufficient. If I were to try to take on Mike Tyson, for instance, in a boxing match, no amount of indomitable will would keep my head attached to my neck when he inevitably pops me one.

But outside of physical contests, in great measure will defines the level at which you can train to compete. Your training defines the level at which you can compete.

Gandhi was not a strong physical specimen, but his strength changed the world. His strength carried his voice through generations and around the world. Not bad for a little guy!

(We love fighting for the little guy by they way. We love to make the little guy into Goliath.)

But that’s not the client I think of this week. I think of a client who’s already strong and capable: GKAD Architects, in Frankfurt, Germany.

They’re a commercial architecture firm, and they design high-use facilities. They create restaurants for airports, and popular cafes and markets. Their design is up to code, resilient, and best of all, inspires and accommodates purchasing behavior.

If you own a chain of restaurants and you want to build a location at a high-volume metro or train station, go to GKAD. They have the strength and knowledge to finish your project at a level so high, you’ll be profitable at your new location in no time.

That’s why, when I think of strength, a number of our clients stand out. But this time, I want to focus on GKAD.

Strength: An Interfanatic Quality

We didn’t last over 20 years through weakness. The Interfanatic Way is to keep after projects until they’re done – and successful. We are inspired by the strength of our clients and we love to inspire strength in our clients.

Interfanatic does that by being there for them when they need us. We have the experience and the creativity to bring fresh perspective, to help them build a foundation for better business.

GKAD Architects: Strength Through Architecture

Goeckmann & Kleespies are phenomenal architects and designers based in Frankfurt, Germany. They don’t build houses; GKAD create places people want to spend money.

Their niche of architecture is highly technical and highly emotional. Building a cafe in an airport isn’t easy – the regulations are enough to put most architects off the job. Who wants to deal with that kind of red tape? Well, GKAD does.

They make a place that is to code, of course. But then they also make it comfortable. And beautiful. And that is special. But then, the beauty must last. You can’t build a restaurant with cheap materials because after the first 100 customers, it will begin to look poor. When you have hundreds of customers per day, you have high-frequency architecture that has it’s own special needs. GKAD takes care of that. But yet, on top of that even, they then bring more psychology into their masterworks – they make a place that inspires spend. They design architecture for their clients that not only meets the need, it ensures their clients will make money.

The strength of their architecture is definitely within its physical capacity. But they do so much more – they make money for their clients by moving to – not the next level beyond – the next order of magnitude beyond. It is their indomitable will to create something amazing and so highly functional and timeless that makes them the best architects in Germany.

“GKAD create places people want to spend money.”

We’re quite proud to work with GKAD. We had an idea, we worked together to hone it, and the result is something interesting and special. This isn’t your average website. It displays their ingenuity, their strength, and their capability.

It was a step in an opposite direction for us. They don’t want their website to be found. They only want their website being seen by people they talk to. Usually, we want to create a volume of traffic. Not this time.

We love working with unique and interesting projects – it’s always an opportunity to learn. It’s always an opportunity to grow in strength.

Interfanatic Service Focus: Interfanatic Website Management Packages

The bedrock of all website function is its management. We have hosting and management packages for budgets of all sizes. It’s fun to work with new, small businesses; it’s just as fun to have an impact on established businesses. Watching owners light up because of great results is satisfying no matter how long they’ve been around.

We handle your hosting and updates. We keep your site up and running. When new technologies emerge, we help you evaluate and implement the ones that make sense for you.

We do that because we’ve been there before. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years. We may not have seen it all, but we’ve seen most of it. And we know what works, what’s going to stick, and what to pass on. We’re here to help you make money, and we do that very well.

I saw this pretty image while on an outing with my wifey. We popped up to PV one day and on our way back down the hill, I saw this view – Los Angeles through the palm trees. I had to stop to take the picture. Sadly, modern phone cameras are terrible. I miss having a real camera to work with! But the sentiment is there: tall palm trees that can take the beating of wind and thunderstorms, and the strength of powerful buildings of downtown Los Angeles. There is strength in this image.

Strong convictions precede great actions.

Louisa May Alcott

Some days, just getting through the day feels like an act of great strength. Of course, all things are relative.

I quote Alcott with some reservation. She is, of course, an incredibly accomplished person. But as a person of some Irish heritage, promoting the ideas of an anti-Irish person is concerning. In this case, her clear, simple idea is one worth promoting.

I join the chorus asking you to get out and vote. Take what power you have and use your strength to exercise your will. Every vote counts. Every vote for what you believe in cancels out a vote for that which you oppose.

Add your effort to that of those who oppose you, and that of those who agree with you, to do your part in the movement in the direction you prefer.

CyberTran is a strong organization, built on strong people working together to what they see as a better future.

Strength: An Interfanatic Quality

There are times we sit back and listen to our clients. There are times we make recommendations. And there are times we stand up to our clients, in an effort to show them a better way forward. The client, ultimately is the boss. But it is our job to guide them away from the pitfalls. When we deal with strong clients, it is sometimes necessary to use strength to push back.

(Definitely not in CyberTran’s case – at least not yet!)

We apply our strengths wisely. Sometimes, we have to choose our battles. We go to work for our clients, whether they get it or not.

In the end, we use our strength to move our clients toward their objectives. The way I see it, that’s what they hired us to do.

Every business has its weaknesses and its strengths. Use our strengths to augment your own and minimize your weaknesses. You focus on what you’re good at and we’ll focus on what we’re good at. So long as we’re pushing forward together, with excellent communication, we’ll use our power to help you get where you want to go.

CyberTran – The Strength to Make a Better Way Forward

When CyberTran came to us looking for help with their website, we of course jumped at the chance. They’re a great organization with some incredibly smart people working to do great things. We use our strengths to fill in where they have needs.

The body of people that make up CyberTran is their strength. The people behind CyberTran have collectively centuries of experience and wisdom. If they had a weak point when they contacted us, it was that they didn’t have website experts.

That’s where we stepped in.

It is our great pleasure to work with CyberTran to our strengths – to help them where they need it so they can focus on augmenting the strengths they have in place to make the world a better place.

“It is our great pleasure to work with CyberTran… to help them as they augment the strengths they have in place to make the world a better place.”

We enjoy managing the CyberTran website and helping them move forward.

My wife and I love this tree. It’s just massive. It’s been here for a very long time and if that trunk does not display resilience and strength, nothing does. I took this on one of our many neighborhood walks, on yet another lovely day. It’s so easy to enjoy these things for me. And I know it’s not easy for others, so I’m pleased to share the good I can during these complicated times.

There are two ways of exerting one’s strength: one is pushing down, the other is pulling up.”

Booker T. Washington

Push others down, or pull others up? Booker Washington doesn’t make a distinction as to what he feels is better, but his actions spoke loudly.

The numismatist in me loves this quote because it features a famous American, well-known on common half dollar commemorative coins of the 1950s. Booker T. Washington Half Dollars are extremely common and even circulated as half dollars in the 1950s and early ’60s. It’s wonderful to put a fantastic quote to a coin – to a man who made a real difference in this country.

(And, it should be noted that the finest examples of Booker T. Washington Half are worth thousands of dollars, even though most are worth but their silver value. Great coins!)

So, I ask you: do you pull up, or do you push down? How do you use your strength.

Interfanatic pulls up. We feel successful when we help others be successful.

Strength: An Interfanatic Quality

When we began over 20 years ago, we got pulled up. As you may know, racecar engineer of GT40 fame Carroll Smith came to our founder and asked for a website. He used his strength. He gave us a shot.

20 years later, we’re still paying it forward. We have fantastic customers (along with the Smith family) that give us the opportunity. Whenever a customer gives us a chance to make them our favorite customer, we leap at the chance.

We’re constantly searching for solid, reliable talent. Many of the artists and technicians who have worked with us in the past have graduated to bigger things. It’s sad to see them go, but when they go, we work with them such that it’s a proud moment – we know we’ve done all we can to help them.

We’re constantly searching for great customers. We love helping customers with small budgets earn enough to reinvest in their business efficiently and grow in success. Sometimes, they go – many of the businesses we’ve worked with have been bought by larger companies. This allows the owners, our customers, to live the American Dream, and it’s a beautiful thing.

Sometimes they stay. For 20 years.

That solidity is our strength. We use our strength to help you grow.

SiteCon Concrete Construction: Strength from Mike Nolen

Physicists know (as do those to passed high school Physics) that the force (strength) of gravity pushes us all down. It is the normal force of that beneath us that pushes back against gravity, keeping us up.

Mike Nolen has been responsible for a whole lot of normal force through the years! First with SiteCon Concrete Construction. Nolen’s concrete projects for cities and counties provided strength for public works buildings to support hundreds of thousands of people around them. That’s strength!

Using the success from SiteCon, Nolen bought an even larger, more prestigious firm, and continues to operate Air Pump USA as its President.

The strength to buy another company! That’s the kind of strength we love to see from our customers.

We designed and built a simple but effective website for SiteCon some years ago. It was our pleasure to work with Mike and watch his success grow.

“The strength to buy another company! That’s the kind of strength Interfanatic loves to see from our customers.”

Nolen goes from strength to strength, and it gives us great pleasure to see that strength build.

The Strength of Interfanatic

This week, we channel the strength of Booker T. Washington to continue pull our customers up during these trying times. We’ve only been here for 20 years, but we’ll be here for you plenty more. Unlike our competitors, we’re in it for you, for the long run.

What is stronger than a steam locomotive? Well, plenty – perhaps a Saturn V comes to mind – but in the late 19th century, there was not much. This kind of train (I found this one in Los Angeles, near the LA Zoo) will always symbolize power and strength. As Booker T. Washignton knows, just like any worthwhile movement, like any worthwhile business, it takes a person, then people to push the train until it has momentum – until it’s ready to fly on its own.

Strength: D&G Paving – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice.”

Bob Marley

Marley was certainly tested, which is why he gained so much insight into strength. He needed it to make his rebellious music, and his fans grew to need it from him. When we lost him, it was a tragedy for those who loved him – but his strength plays on.

Strength: strength of body, strength of character, strength of mind, strength of will.

When you look at Dan Ash of D&G Paving, his strengths are the first thing that strike you. Dan’s built a great business on strength, and on the strength of his product: great paving services.

Strength is a requirement of building a new business. It’s not easy. One must retain the fortitude to make it through the bumps.

I don’t know if Ash is the Yoda of asphalt, but some certainly consider him to be. He doesn’t need the Force, he just uses gigantic powerful machines to do his job beautifully and quickly in a way that has strength to stand the test of time.

If you look anywhere around Los Angeles, California’s South Bay, you’ll see the signature white and orange “D&G Paving” signs all over the place. You’ve probably noticed them before. There’s a reason for that – D&G is great at what they do.

Unless you’re a property owner or a property manager, you probably don’t have the need for fresh slurry very often. But next time you need asphalt or concrete work done for your business or parking lot, you know you can count on the strength of Dan Ash and D&G Paving.
