Humility: Par 5 Events, Ara Messerlian – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

Ara Messerlian and Par 5 Events, for our Customer Spotlight on Humility, an Interfanatic Quality

Humility is the greatest quality a man can have, and arrogance is undoubtedly the worst.

– Maulana W. Khan

Stay humble. It’s not always easy when you’re served with success after success. But it’s so important. One day’s miracle quickly becomes an expected norm. Just as easily, it can all turn around.

Gotta keep at it.

Khan is right: arrogance is the worst. Arrogant people require our empathy, if not our feeding. Arrogance is often a defense for massive insecurity, and while it’s tempting to focus on bringing ’em down a peg, we’re all better served trying to understand people, and by celebrating real humility.

Which brings me to Ara Messerlian. Messerlian created Par 5 Events some years ago, and immediately had success. He didn’t get or keep success with braggadocio; he brought customers in with confident humility. His results spoke for him, but his attitude kept new customers interested.

We try to remain quietly confident. Every time it feels like we’ve seen and done everything, a new customer comes in with a new challenge. After 20 years, we’ve seen plenty, but we’re still learning plenty, too.

Khan reminds us to stay humble, to stay thirsty, and never let our pride overwhelm us. It can all turn around so quickly – when you least expect it.

Humility: An Interfanatic Quality

When a new client comes our way, it’s a blessing. We treat every client as such. We’re proud of the way we’re able to work with clients of all budget-sizes. If you have $100,000, we can make your website and marketing rock and roll. But if you have $100, we can do something to help you, too.

Whatever it is, we can help. We’ve, at points, been down to $100, and we’ve had excess thousands. We’ve learned from that, and we’re happy to help anybody we possibly can.

We have a lot of experience, so we’re able to figure out how to most effectively help them invest their budget for the greatest return. And most importantly, we’ll stick it out with them until things start to work. We’ll stick it out if they’ll stick it out.

We remember the tough times. We’re here to help. We feel successful when we help our clients be successful.

Par 5 Events – Humility Always, Results That Were Always Becoming

Humility is a becoming quality. But what really matters are results. Ara Messerlian knew that, and he applied both with deftness to his business, Par 5 Events.

Ara leveraged his business into a better position, but while his business was running, we had the pleasure of working with him to fix up his site.

It’s always great to work with somebody humble.

It’s never great to work with somebody arrogant. So, if you’re humble, let’s work together! Let’s make some great things. It’ll be our great pleasure to work with you.

“It’s always great to work with somebody humble.”

Messerlian and Par 5 Events did well through their humility. They did well for their customers. It is our goal to do the same.

A Novel Way to Reach New Customers:
Interfanatic Power Social Advertising

One service that requires great humility: digital advertising. What you think you know, you don’t.

It’s always best to start with a clean slate and no expectations.

Proper digital advertising is really complicated. (Keep in mind, for professionals like us, the ads interfaces are quite different than those aimed at taking money from novice consumers.) But, it can also be an extremely useful way to generate leads when your brand is well known. For businesses just starting out, it can be a great way to get your name out there. The leads are slower to come than they are when people already recognize your name. People are much more likely to use your services when they already know you. And when you’re new, the only way to get known is to get your name out there so people learn your name.

Social advertising is a great way to get your name or brand in front of people. After they’ve seen your business a few times, it’ll start to be familiar. Especially if you do an excellent job of portraying your brand personality over social, you can really make an impact.

Then, we take it a step further and use your most successful posts to get in front of targeted customers.

We work with all sorts of Social Media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin and Pinterest. Each have demographics that suit different businesses. But proper social posting is always a good idea for SEO.

Interfanatic and Humility

If you come to us for help, we’ll love to help you. We love to learn about your business and make an impression. And we know the only way we can learn about you is by approaching your business case with humility and experience.

This is such a beautiful place. Sometimes, when we think we’ve made something good, it’s best to step back and appreciate all that surrounds us.

Black Lives Matter.

Nobody is perfect. But when we approach life with humility and a willingness to learn and do good for others, we can make this place better.

Doing the opposite, obviously, does not work.

This is America.

Let’s make it better with an experienced dose of humility.

Quickness: D&G Paving – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

D&G Paving, for our Customer Spotlight on Quickness, an Interfanatic Quality

Forget perfect. Be quick. Quickness kills.”

Ehab Atalla

It strikes me as a bit controversial to use a Persian-American’s quote that features killing. No doubt it will offend someone. But Atalla knows how to “kill it” in a business sense, and he wants to be known for this quote. And his sentiment is true: quickness kills.

Whether you’re first to market with an idea or mash-up, or most responsive, your quickness determines your success or failure in great measure.

We fully admit that we’re more comprehensive than quick. But quickness, as all Interfanatic Qualities, is one we strive for.

Quickness: An Interfanatic Quality

When it comes to emergencies, we’re on it. It doesn’t matter what else is going on, in a digital marketing emergency, we drop everything to focus on making things right.

With that quickness, we keep our customers on top. So that they can respond quickly in the moment it is needed most.

There are very few businesses that treat your business as if it were their own. That’s an Interfanatic way.

D&G Paving – Killing it with Quickness

Dan Ash of D&G Paving came back to us recently with a problem. He needed customers NOW.

This is not usually a problem Dan ever has. He runs a tight ship with great people. But some extenuating circumstances were making his life difficult and drying up his funnel. The pandemic is no joke. Most of our lives have ground to a halt.

The cornerstone of Dan’s business is his ability to respond to customers quickly. Most people in his industry don’t bother to call back quickly. Dan knows this, and he exploits his competitors’ weakness.

For that reason, he always has business. His customers know they can trust him and always go back to him with any job – huge or tiny.

Also, his signs are prolific around Southern California’s South Bay. I know you’ve seen his orange signs. They’re everywhere.

“D&G Paving’s signs are prolific around Southern California’s South Bay. I know you’ve seen the orange signs. They’re everywhere.”

So, when Dan said he wanted help, and quick, we knew exactly what to do. To compliment his quickness, we needed to create some for him.

Google Ads can turn the spigot back on for you.

In the hands of the incompetent, Google Ads are a horrendous waste of money. Google has seemingly taken great delight in making Analyitics and Ads so complicated, no normal person can figure them out.

No worries, mate – you’ve got Interfanatic ready to help. Most Ads vendors require a minimum ad spend on the order of $3,000. We do not. We’ll work with a $150 budget, and we’ll make it work.

That’s just what we’ve done for D&G. There’s a lot more to do, but to get things moving, we knew the place to start. We got business moving for Dan and D&G again. It’s a great feeling to make a instantaneous difference in a Southern California institution.

Interfanatic and Quickness

When you need all hands on deck and results NOW, we got you. We’ve been there. Nobody treats your business like you treat your business, but we make it our imperative to get pretty danged close.

To keep the lights on, sometimes cutting costs isn’t the correct answer. Sometimes it’s temporarily moving some around.

Be like Dan. Kill it. We’ll help.

Nothing is quite as nimble as a go-kart. And a real go-kart, real racers know, is the closest thing you can get to the top level of motorsport on a tiny budget. Nothing is quite as nimble as a real go-kart, but Interfanatic prides itself on being close. And we can get you Formula One results starting with a go-kart budget.

Black Lives Matter.

The path of progress is never one to be taken quickly. It takes years of pain and effort to move along to make the world better. But demonstrated significant pain does seem to hasten things. It’s frustrating it has to be that way.

This is America.

We can do better. We’re on the right path. A little kick in the ass of complacency never hurts.

Diligence: 1st Stop Urgent Care – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

The 1st Stop Urgent Care Clinics, for our Customer Spotlight on Diligence, an Interfanatic Quality

Diligence overcomes Difficulties,
Sloth makes them.

Poor Richard, aka Benjamin Franklin

Poor Richard, over two hundred years ago, adapted an English quote from the 1500s to create this succinct gem.

Difficulties happen. With diligence, these difficulties are eventually removed. With the opposite of diligence, they just keep a-coming.

That’s why when you employ somebody to do a job for you, you need that person (or group) to not quit, no matter how much the troubles mount. It can be difficult to stick with fixing a problem when more and more keep piling on. We’ve all been there. It’s life.

In life, often, the best defense is a great offense. So it is with difficulties; thus quoth Franklin.

We take on those difficulties, those challenges of work, and we vanquish them.

Diligence: An Interfanatic Quality

We see diligence as a way of life. The thought of an unfinished project, or one not completed the best way it could be – that’s the ultimate frustration. We would much rather complete the project, and complete it brilliantly. We enjoy it when customers entrust us and empower us to do our job properly.

Our customers are diligent, and we match or exceed their work ethic whenever we can.

1st Stop Urgent Care – Diligence, Every Day

When Dr. Raphael Argueta came to us, he was in a bind. His old web company (who was very good, from the looks of it), unfortunately was unable to survive. Business is hard for everyone, of course. But business comprised of web geeks seem particularly prone to failure.

That’s okay. We’re here for that.

We got his websites back up to speed and we’re doing our diligence to keep them running well. We’re so glad Dr. Argueta found us!

Dr. Raphael Argueta is just the kind of customer we love. Dr. Argueta good things for the world, and we get to be involved! He runs two urgent care clinics in Southern California, and every day he and his staff help people live longer, healthier, happier lives.

“Dr. Argueta good things for the world, and we get to be involved!”

And because we get to work with Dr. Argueta, we get to help people in our own little way. We’d love to work with more Dr. Arguetas.

Dr. Argueta’s clinics are great. Check them out! The sites need a bit of work, but we’re working with Dr. Argueta toward that goal. For now, they’re running nicely: 1st Stop Urgent Care – Camarillo, 1st Stop Urgent Care – Torrance.

Our hosting packages come with site maintenance built-in.

It used to be that you could build a website and leave it there. Of course, that’s never been the best way to use a website – but it was possible. Unfortunately now, that’s not the case. They need constant care and feeding to keep the hackers away.

So, we take care of all that, and if you need quick changes made to your site, that’s usually covered, too. As is an SSL Certificate – something you definitely want with your modern website.

We’ll be diligent about keeping your website up-to-date and you can worry about your business. (And, of course, we have many ways to help you get more business.)

Interfanatic and Diligence

We use our diligence to overcome difficulties and prevent many more. Stuff happens, but with us on your side, you have a better chance for greater success.

Because when you’re successful, we feel successful. It is our pleasure to help. It is our pleasure to be diligent in the face of difficulties. It’s what we do.

This duomo required great diligence to create. The artwork is spectacular. And though the Catholic Church is always controversial, I sincerely believe that it, as most churches, on the whole does more good than harm with its own brand of diligence.

Black Lives Matter.

We must be diligent, as our black brothers and sisters have been. They’ve been diligent in the face of systemic racism for far too long. We must be diligent in our assistance. Let us not let this flame die – not that they would let time extinguish it. Clearly they will not. But we must not let it suffocate in indifference within us.

This is America.

We can do better. We can overcome obstacles with our collective diligence.

So let’s just do it.

Kindness: Roger Klein & Spectrum West Design – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

Spectrum West Design - for our Customer Spotlight on Kindness, an Interfanatic Quality

Continue to be who and how you are, to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness.

Dr. Maya Angelou

Astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness. That’s all we can do. One at a time, collectively, with kindness, there is progress.

Kindness doesn’t always mean keeping your mouth shut. Sure, that’s comfortable, but as we’ve seen, it doesn’t move things in any direction. To go forward we must speak up with kindness and love.

Many people don’t feel heard. Some react with empathy, some react with force. Which is kinder? Which would Dr. Angelou have us do?

Unfortunately, sometimes empathy isn’t understood until people bring forward the alternative. And seen among the alternatives, kindness will astonish a mean world, and bring forth progress.

Dr. Angelou calls for kindness. When kindness isn’t enough, it surely stands out.

Kindness: An Interfanatic Quality

We deal with a lot of people. We always try to do it with kindness. I don’t know your situation. I hope we can work together and make our little parts of the world work – with kindness.

The ripple of kindness spreads through our community. We put that ripple into everything we do. Which is, at times, difficult, and frustrating. But it’s so worth doing because that ripple always reflects back somehow. Kindness is always worth the effort, even if its reflected effects aren’t immediate. The effect on our own hearts of projecting kindness is immediate, especially when kindness is given freely.

That’s one reason, during this difficult time of tumult, we’re offering free products to people who need them. Free SEO situation reports, free digital marketing situation reports, free performance situation reports.

Kindness is always worth the effort

These aren’t some pre-packaged drivel. These are custom, bespoke reports created around your website. They’re not as powerful as the non-free reports, of course, but they still give you a lot of information. Take us up on our offer. And if you win the weekly Tuesday Trivia contest on our social, you get a paid Situation Report of your choice for free.

Effort goes into our Free Situation Reports. They’re valuable for the people who get them. A great deal of effort goes into our paid-for SitReps, and they’re extremely valuable for people who get them.

Roger Klein of Spectrum West Design – Always with the Kindness

A few years ago, we worked with Roger Klein to build him an effective website for his interior design services. The thing you understand about Roger immediately is his kindness. He’s a kind gentleman.

And he’s a great interior designer.

It’s always great to work with somebody who is good at what they do. They always teach you something. There’s always a lesson. But when they’re good at what they do and they’re kind, that’s where the fun really begins.

Klein brings kindness to his talent. That’s quite an effective combination.

Kindness in all Actions: Interfanatic Basic Management – 1 Hour of Updates

If your website isn’t producing customers for you, look at it. How effective is it?

We use our SitReps to guide your revision, then plan out what updates need to be done. Right now is a time to be dynamic in business. Stagnancy will not win this day. Address your customers. Address their concerns. Tell them if you’re open for business, and if you’ve had to adapt your services to the times, tell them how.

If you feel in over your head, we’re here to help. This is what we do. We take care of the details so you can focus on your business. Whether that means thriving, or just keeping the doors open, we’re here to help. We work with customers of all budgets.

Really, you should be constantly updating your site. (We can do that, too.) But seriously, right now is a time to be proactive, especially if you normally are not.

Our Begin Management products might make sense, too. They can include a SitRep and two hours of labor. These new products are not on our website, but contact us to learn more about them.

We’re here to help. We feel successful when we help you be successful. Let us do our job and make your website and digital marketing even more effective.

That’s the Interfanatic way.

Interfanatic and Kindness

We’re always here for you. And we always bring a dose of kindness to our relationship. That’s a fundamental part of our job. It’s a wonderful feeling to go the extra mile for a small business, then watch them take that mile and make so much more of it.

We’ll bring you kindness with our good work. We love to continue to astonish this mean old world.

What in the heck does spaghetti have to do with kindness??? Have you ever shared a bowl full of spaghetti with family? It’s made with love, just like this kindness my wifey made for me. She’s busy working every day, but she sees how hard I work so she goes the extra mile to make delicious food with kindness and love. So, I wanted to celebrate that. I don’t ask her to cook – in fact, I often offer to. But she refuses because she loves to cook. It’s a wonderful load she takes on, and I’m grateful for her kindness.

Black Lives Matter.

Another week, another week of peaceful protesting. And a week of change. Minneapolis is working to change the narrative – to defund its police in favor of other socially beneficial options. Sometimes, policing works great. And it will always be necessary. But sometimes, a community decides the cost is too great, and they want to try something new. They want to invest in kindness and empathy, rather than enforcement.

This doesn’t mean that community hates its police. Police are our friends, our neighbors. They work every day to keep us safe.

But we’ve seen sometimes it doesn’t feel like that. Sometimes it feels like they’re not keeping us safe. Of course, police training is such that these officers of the law believe they are taking crime off the streets, keeping criminals in check, preventing problems before they happen.

But are they? The Grand Experiment of Minneapolis will determine much.

The point is, if police could address situations with more kindness and empathy, they may be able to do a better job. Then again, they may end up dead. Nobody wants to see the good officers of the law killed. But our collective community is tired of seeing innocent people convicted without trial.

Something huge feels broken.

When peaceful protestors are treated with contempt, and those officers there to keep those Americans safe treat those Americans with contempt – to establish order, to “keep the peace”… this is not a viable answer.

What is the viable answer? We won’t know until we try something else. We may end up back at square one. But we won’t know if we don’t try.

This is America.

Until we change it.

So, we bring kindness to our communities, one person at a time. And we hope that all people do the same. We know that not everyone will. But that won’t keep us from trying.

Goodness: Green Ink Marketing – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

Green Ink Marketing - for our Customer Spotlight on Goodness, an Interfanatic Quality

The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all directions.”

Chanakya

Chanakya, an early Indian philosopher and statesman, knew good from bad. He saw both sides of humanity throughout his life. He celebrated the proliferation of goodness.

It’s a beautiful sentiment. But I think, if there’s no wind, the fragrance of the flower permeates its surroundings in all directions. When there is wind against a person, what becomes of their goodness? Does it go with the wind, or against it?

Regardless, we appreciate the goodness of people. And we celebrate it. We try to share our goodness, and let it permeate all the work we do.

Goodness: An Interfanatic Quality

We love working with good people. In fact, we won’t work with people we don’t consider to have good hearts. Life is too short, and we need to apply our talents in a way that will improve the world.

Everyone has bad moments. But if they’re good at their core, the law of averages will right the situation and bring things back to a positive balance.

This is when work is worth doing. It’s easier to work hard for good people.

Green Ink Marketing – The Good Idea of Good People

Many years ago, Green Ink Marketing came to us for website consultation. They had the idea to do printing on recycled paper, with eco-friendly and sustainable inks that also were brilliant and lasting. All decisions are based around using the least environmentally impactful method whenever possible. It was a good idea, and we’re pleased to have helped.

It’s wonderful to work with new, small businesses who feel they can make the world better – if just a tiny bit. It’s encouraging and inspiring.

That’s the kind of goodness we love to work with. When doing good permeates your every move, as it does for Green Ink Marketing, it ripples outward, attracting like-minded individuals and their businesses.

Green Ink Marketing: a small, local company, doing good for their community and the businesses that surround them. It was our pleasure to work with them, even if just for a little bit.

When doing good permeates your every move, as it does for Green Ink Marketing, it ripples outward, attracting like-minded individuals and their businesses.”

We’re always looking to assist other businesses like Green Ink. If you have a good idea and you need help getting started, reach out to us. Let’s see what we can do together. We work with customers of all types and budget sizes.

What’s Good: Interfanatic The Works HackSecure Dedicated Business Hosting with SSL

For serious business websites, we have our The Works series of products. A great example of a business that could use our The Works HackSecure Dedicated Business Hosting is a high-traffic eCommerce site. It’s got all the bells and whistles you need to run a safe, secure website that’s not limited by resource.

All of our management and hosting plans come with use-it-or-lose-it labor included to keep things running even when problems arise. Because, let’s be honest, no matter what you do, stuff happens. The labor is designed to ensure the websites run safely, and to take care of any little changes you have for your site. If you have more changes or labor required (including The Works Advanced or Rush labor), you have to pay for it, but at least you start every month with some in the bank.

We keep the lights on for ya, so you can go about your business.

Interfanatic and Goodness

Chanakya is one of history’s interesting characters. He put himself in positions that gave him a fascinating collective experience to draw on. And his observations, I find, are often keen. (Of course, they should be taken in context.)

But this one – about the flowers and the goodness of people… It’s universal. Our goal, every day we go to work, is to spread a little goodness and hope a little comes back. The endeavor is to spread goodness whether the wind is with us, or against us.

Ah, a lovely and intricate succulent. The water’s surface tension interacts with the cuticle in repulsion, giving the water a gem-like, glassy quality. Sometimes it’s the little things, you know? Succulents are beautiful in California, a way to see greenery in a State plagued by drought. And, in line with the green theme of this week’s customer spotlight. And, our The Works hosting is like a succulent, in that it rarely runs dry on resources and it’s spiny to keep the baddies out.

Strength: D&G Paving – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

Interfanatic Customer Spotlight: D&G Paving

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice.”

Bob Marley

Marley was certainly tested, which is why he gained so much insight into strength. He needed it to make his rebellious music, and his fans grew to need it from him. When we lost him, it was a tragedy for those who loved him – but his strength plays on.

Strength: strength of body, strength of character, strength of mind, strength of will.

When you look at Dan Ash of D&G Paving, his strengths are the first thing that strike you. Dan’s built a great business on strength, and on the strength of his product: great paving services.

Strength is a requirement of building a new business. It’s not easy. One must retain the fortitude to make it through the bumps.

I don’t know if Ash is the Yoda of asphalt, but some certainly consider him to be. He doesn’t need the Force, he just uses gigantic powerful machines to do his job beautifully and quickly in a way that has strength to stand the test of time.

If you look anywhere around Los Angeles, California’s South Bay, you’ll see the signature white and orange “D&G Paving” signs all over the place. You’ve probably noticed them before. There’s a reason for that – D&G is great at what they do.

Unless you’re a property owner or a property manager, you probably don’t have the need for fresh slurry very often. But next time you need asphalt or concrete work done for your business or parking lot, you know you can count on the strength of Dan Ash and D&G Paving.

Value: Peters Realty Center – Interfanatic Customer Spotlight

Peters Realty - Customer Spotlight Interfanatic - Value

Price is what you pay; value is what you get.

– Warren Buffett

In this fascinating, terrifying and often delightful world, it’s difficult to know the price of a dollar. Nick Peters (now of Engel & Volkers) knows value.

We do on-going consultation with Nick. He’s one of the best Real Estate Agents in South Redondo Beach and Torrance, CA. All RE Agents claim to have superior customer service, and they all claim to really care about their clients, and they all say they really work hard for them. And many do.

But Nick takes it next level. Nick puts his money where his mouth is. He is constantly investing in his business to bring his customers value. And it works. And his customers know it. That’s why, in a flooded market, they stick with Nick and his team.

We at Interfanatic are attracted to Nick’s business because we do the same thing. We’re always brainstorming new ways to get value to our customers; to improve ROI; to help their business be better.

Nick and I sometimes just sit and chat and it’s amazing what comes out of our little sessions. It’s always valuable. And we’re happy to share what we learn from each other and pass it along.

Because to us, sharing what we learn… that’s value.

Peters Realty Center Hosts Two Extremely Valuable Seminars For Real Estate Investors

Nick Peters and the Peters Realty Center are offering 2 extremely valuable seminars in early March.  They are already famous for their “Foreclosures and Short Sales” seminar which always packs the house.  Now they have added “Income Property – Buying, Owning and Exchanging” and it’s sure to fill up quick as well.

Nick Peters and Peters Realty Center
Peters Realty Center offers two Great Seminars to Real Estate and Property Investors

Nick Peters is a local expert on Foreclosures and Short Sales, having worked with them for over twenty years and lived as a proactive resident in Torrance, CA for much longer.  In the past few years, he’s also been compiling a comprehensive, reliable list of all foreclosures and short sales in the area – completely different than everybody else’s list in that it’s actually up-to-date and reliable – by far the best list in the industry.  You can find out more about this list by talking to the great people at the Peters Realty Center in Redondo Beach, CA.

With over 30 years of being involved with and investing in Income Properties all over the United States, Nick has seen it all.  His new seminar “Income Property – Buying, Owning & Exchanging” will certainly be packed with information and the details Nick is known for – tidbits that other people just don’t know because they haven’t been in the thick of it like he has.

Members of WSmad have been to the “Foreclosures and Short Sales” presentation more than once, and every time it yielded fascinating information about the economy and investing in real estate.  We highly anticipate this new addition to Nick repertoire, and vigorously encourage anyone interested in Real Property investing to make their way to these seminars in Redondo Beach, California.
